How To Delete Twitch Highlights | Easy Guide

Highlights are great to have on your Twitch channel for when people stop by and you are not live. But what if you no longer want a highlight, can you delete it?

How To Delete Twitch Highlights

  1. Click on your profile icon.
  2. Now click “Creator Dashboard”.
  3. On the left side click “Content” then click “Video Producer”.
  4. From the drop down menu click “Highlight”.
  5. Click on the checkbox next to the highlight you want to delete.
  6. Click the trash can icon at the top.
  7. Confirm you want to delete the highlight.

Once you confirm that you want to delete the highlight it will be gone for good and there is no way of recovering it. So make sure you are certain you want to delete the highlight before actually doing so.

Here are some screenshots that provide more detail:

Click on your profile icon. Now click “Creator Dashboard”.

Profile Icon > Creator Dashboard

On the left side click “Content” then click “Video Producer”.

Content > Video Producer

From the drop down menu choose “Highlight”.

Click “Highlight”

Click on the checkbox of the highlight you want to delete. Click the trash can icon at the top.

Check Box > Trashcan Icon

Confirm you want to delete the highlight.

Click Yes

Again, before you go deleting a bunch of your highlights keep in mind that once you delete a highlight it is gone for good. There is no going back and recovering highlights that you delete.

For this reason I recommend getting an external hard drive, like this one on Amazon, to save some of your streams and highlights that you don’t want to delete, but that you don’t want on your channel either.

I save a lot of my streams and clips on my external hard drive because it saves a ton of space on my computer.

Also, if I ever am ever looking for content to create Youtube videos or TikToks with then I can just pull that content from my external hard drive.

This is my recommendation if you are getting into streaming and content creation, but if you choose not to save your highlights elsewhere just know once they are deleted from Twitch they are gone for good.

The method above is good for deleting one highlight at a time, but what if you want to delete a bunch of highlights at once. Then what?

How To Delete All Your Twitch Highlights At Once

  1. Click on your profile icon.
  2. Now click “Creator Dashboard”.
  3. On the left side click “Content” then click “Video Producer”.
  4. From the drop down menu choose “Highlight”.
  5. Click on the checkbox next to the drop down menu at the top to select all your highlights.
  6. Click the trash can icon at the top.
  7. Confirm you want to delete the highlights.

Here are some screenshots that go into more detail for you:

Click on your profile icon. Now click “Creator Dashboard”.

Profile Icon > Creator Dashboard

On the left side click “Content” then click “Video Producer”.

Content > Video Producer

From the drop down menu choose “Highlight”.

Click “Highlight”

Click on the checkbox next to the drop down menu at the top to select all your highlights.

Checkbox At The Top

Click the trash can icon at the top.

Checkbox > Trashcan Icon

Confirm you want to delete the highlights.

Click Yes

If you want to delete several of your Twitch highlights, but not all of your Twitch highlights, then you could just mark all of your highlights like I showed you above and then uncheck the ones you do not want to delete.

You could also just go through and check all the boxes of the highlights you want to delete if you prefer to do it that way.

Now let’s say you don’t want to delete any of your highlights, you only want to hide them so that way others can’t see them on your channel, can you do that?

How To Hide A Twitch Highlight

  1. Click on your profile icon.
  2. Now click “Creator Dashboard”.
  3. On the left side click “Content” then click “Video Producer”.
  4. From the drop down menu choose “Highlight”.
  5. Click on the highlight you want to hide.
  6. Click on “Unpublish” at the top.
  7. The highlight will now be hidden from the public and only you can see it.

Here are some screenshots below to give you some more detail:

Like I mentioned above these highlight can be great for content on other platforms. Here is how you download Twitch highlights if you decide you would like to use the content elsewhere.

How To Download Twitch Highlights

  1. Click on your profile icon.
  2. Now click “Creator Dashboard”.
  3. On the left side click “Content” then click “Video Producer”.
  4. From the drop down menu choose “Highlight”.
  5. Click on the highlight you want to download.

  7. The highlight will now be downloaded to your computer.

Here are some screenshots below to help walk you through it:

Content > Video Producer

From the drop down menu choose “Highlight”.

Click “Highlight”

Click on the highlight you want to download. Click on “Download” at the top. The highlight will now be downloaded to your computer.

Download Button

Keep in mind though that the longer the highlight is, the longer it will take for it to be downloaded to your computer.

Also, like I mentioned above, I highly recommend getting an external hard drive (like this one on Amazon) to save your content on. Your streaming clips, highlights, VODs, etc. will fill your computer quickly, trust me.

But having this content is great because then you can use it to create content on other platforms like Youtube and TikTok to help grow your brand outside of Twitch.

We talked a lot about how to remove Twitch highlights from your channel, but now let’s discuss why these highlights are so important.

What’s The Point Of Twitch Highlights?

Twitch highlights are great for giving users who visit your channel a preview as to who you are as a streamer. Also, many streamers take highlights they have made on their Twitch channel and share them on other platforms such as Youtube, TikTok or Twitter.

Sharing content on other platforms is crucial if you want to grow as a streamer. Having highlights on your channel is nice, but it won’t help you grow like sharing these highlights on other platforms will.

Do Twitch Highlights Expire?

Twitch highlights do not expire. For this reason some streamers choose to save certain past broadcasts or VODs as highlights so that way they never expire and they can pull content from them later.

👋 Hey There, I'm Eric!

Since 2018, I've been making streams come true.

I like gaming, streaming and watching other people stream. I created this website to help streamers, viewers, and gamers answer questions they have regarding live streaming, gaming, and PCs. I am a Twitch affiliate and currently stream on Twitch 3 days a week. I also have a Youtube channel where I make videos about streaming. I hope you find my content helpful. Feel free to stop by one of my streams to say hi.
