Live Streaming

Believe it or not, one of the best ways to make money from a gaming PC is to game! Of course, you have to game in front of an audience that wants to support you, but you can make good money from streaming.

You can live stream on Twitch, Youtube, or anywhere else really. Every platform has their pros and cons, but all can be a great way to make money.

When you’re starting out as a streamer, you mostly want to focus on building your community, remaining consistent, and playing games that people like but that aren’t oversaturated with competition.

This way you can get noticed without being lost in the crowd.

Create Youtube Videos

You don’t have to be a live streamer to make money off of gaming and your gaming PC. You can simply record your gameplay and then edit the videos later.

Creating content this way is a bit more taxing than live streaming, because you need to save your videos (takes up a ton of space), and then you need to edit and post them.

However, Youtube is still a great way to make money. Many content creators will do both. Look at Insym, for example.

He streams on Twitch, edits the videos down for his Youtube channel, and even has a second Youtube channel dedicated to unedited Twitch streams.

But if you are not into streaming or gaming then you can make Youtube content on something else, edit the content on your gaming PC, then upload it to Youtube.

To be fair, doing all of this takes a ton of time and work, but it is one of the best ways to make money from your gaming PC.

Video Editing

The best thing about having a gaming PC is that it has some pretty good hardware inside of it, so you don’t just have to edit your own videos.

There are tons of content creators out there that are more than happy to pay skilled and reliable video editors to edit videos for their Youtube channel(s), TikToks, etc.

Video editing is a fantastic way to earn money as a freelancer with a gaming PC, and one not many people think of! You can check out Fiverr here to begin offering your services to future clients.

Graphic Design

Graphic design is similar to video editing. It’s a great way to use your gaming PC to make some extra cash.

Having a gaming PC gives you an advantage because it lets you render your graphics faster and makes it easier to run heavy-duty graphic design programs.

You’ll likely want to start out as a freelancer editing images for Youtube channel art, Twitch, etc. After you build a nice portfolio, though, the world will be your oyster.

And just like I mentioned above, Fiverr is a great place to offer your graphic design expertise to others. It’s also a great place to find clients for the next two ideas I suggest.

Digital Art

Digital art and graphic design are somewhat similar, but not exactly. With graphic design, you’d be using your gaming computer to create banners, thumbnails, etc.

With digital art you’ll be using your gaming computer and the help of a drawing tablet to draw and create things like emotes, characters, backgrounds, etc.

It can be hard to break into digital art, but if you hone your skills and target a niche, it’s a great way to make some money. The better your computer, the easier it can handle more advanced drawing and painting tools.

3D Modeling / Animation / Vtuber Modeling

3D Modeling and animation take a lot of processing and graphics power, so it’s a good thing you have a PC!

Getting good at 3D modeling and animation is very hard, but it’s well worth the time as you’ll be a very sought after commodity. Everyday more and more “vtubers” are popping up on Youtube, Twitch, etc.

All of these content creators need 3D avatars, and many are willing to pay top dollar for ones with smooth and unique animations. So, my advice is to target a niche that has an abundant customer base, and get good!

Gaming Tournaments

We always find our way back to gaming! One of the very best ways to make money off of your gaming PC is to find a highly competitive game that pays top dollar to tournament winners, and get extremely good at that game.

To get good enough to win tournaments, you have to dedicate a lot of your life and free time to playing the game.

Even then, you have to focus completely on improving and becoming a pro. There are tons of players that spend 8+ hours a day playing their favorite game that never make it out of the lowest ranks.

Hire a coach, get extremely good, find a team, and go make your money in tournaments! And for more about going pro in games such as Fortnite , Apex Legends, or CSGO check out my linked articles.

Crypto Mining

GPUs are very well optimized for mining crypto currency and while it’s not as popular as it was just a couple of years ago, you can still make some money by mining crypto with your gaming PC.

The trick is to choose the right coin to mine and have a GPU that is strong enough to actually make more money than you spend on your electric bill.

However, if you have a decent GPU, there’s a good chance you can make enough money to cover the cost of a bill or two over the month.

In-Game Valuable Trading

Many games these days have collectible in-game items that you can earn and collect. But did you know that in some of these games, you can turn around and sell these items for money?

Trading in-game items has become increasingly popular over the years as people are able to make money just through gaming and trading items they collect.

Game Development

Developing your own game seems crazy intense, but it is actually quite doable if your have a good enough PC. And if your game takes off, you can actually make some good money.

Now the graphics don’t have to be anything special. Even a game with simple graphics and animations can become quite popular.

One of the best examples of someone creating a game on a whim comes from Youtube Dani. He created the game Muck simply because he was challenged to in a Youtube comment. You can see how he did this in the video below.

Is A Gaming PC A Good Investment?

A gaming PC is a good investment because it is far cheaper to upgrade a gaming PC than it is to buy a new generation console. Once you’ve paid the initial cost of a gaming PC, gaming becomes much cheaper in the long run. So, if you enjoy gaming and PC games, a gaming PC is well worth the investment.

I’ll be honest, you’re probably not going to see a high return on your gaming PC investment, as far as money goes.

Most of the time, when someone sells their computer they have to take about a 30% loss on the parts inside of it.

However, a PC is still very much worth the investment if you enjoy gaming. You can build a brand new gaming PC right now and it’ll still play new games in a decade.

It might not be able to play those games at max graphics settings, but it’ll play them. On top of this, the PC has the highest number of high-quality free-to-play games of any console.

So, a gaming PC is definitely a good investment if you’re a gamer. And on top of that, having a decent gaming PC gives you more opportunities to make money than a console ever could.
