What Does FeelsBirthdayMan Mean? -Origin & How To Use It

If you have been in a Twitch stream you may have seen or heard people say “FeelsBirthdayMan”. But what does this mean?

In this article I go over the meaning of “FeelsBirthdayMan”, the origin, and how you can use this emote on Twitch and Youtube as a viewer and as a streamer.

What Does FeelsBirthdayMan Mean?

The FeelsBirthday Man emote is used on Twitch and other platforms to celebrate a birthday, usually the streamers or another user in chat. It is also used as a mock celebration for something that happenened on stream such as the streamer beating an easy level.

FeelsBirthdayMan Emote

FeelsBirthdayMan Origin

The FeelsBirthdayMan emote is based on Pepe the Frog, a cartoon created by Matt Furie in 2005. The FeelsBirthdayMan emote was originally uploaded to FFZ on September 13th, 2015 by Fubzo and then to BTTV on January 7th, 2021 by volt_ovv.

Although the FeelsBirthdayMan emote is based on Pepe the Frog, the real idea for the emote itself came from the monkaS  emote. The monkaSemote was originally used on 4chan in 2011, and has since grown into one of the most popular emotes/memes on the internet.

In fact, the monkaS emote has inspired other great emotes such as monkaWmonkaH, and monkaEyes. FeelsBirthdayMan is truly just another spinoff of monkaS.

The FeelsBirthdayMan emote is closely related to the FeelsBadMan, FeelsSadMan, and other emotes that begin in “Feels” and end in “Man”.

These emotes are often used to express emotion in a stream and the various emotes make it easier to express a variety of emotions.

Although the FeelsBirthdayMan emote is not used to convey an emotion, it is still pretty clear what message the emote is trying to convey.

The FeelsBirthdayMan emote is currently used on over 6,000 Twitch channels between BTTV and FFZ combined.

The FeelsBirthdayMan Emote is much more popular on FFZ than it is on BTTV.

How To Use The FeelsBirthdayMan Emote On Twitch

  1. Add the FFZ or the BTTV Google extensions to your Twitch account.
  2. Make sure the streamer has the FeelsBirthdayMan emote enabled on their channel.
  3. Type “FeelsBirthdayMan” in the streamer’s Twitch chat (without the quotation marks) and send the message.
  4. The FeelsBirthdayMan emote will now appear in the stream’s chat.

Make sure you type FeelsBirthdayMan exactly as it appears with the correct spelling and capitalization. If you don’t, it won’t work. Also, a streamer must have the emote enabled on either BTTV or FFZ in order for it to work.

Another cool thing is that if you are on PC, you can just click the little emoji button and select which emote you want to send in Twitch chat.

If you need more help I wrote an entire article about adding BTTV emotes to your Twitch account and adding FFZ to your Twitch account. These guides are helpful for both streamers and viewers.

How To Use The FeelsBirthdayMan Emote On Youtube

  2. Make sure the streamer has the FeelsBirthdayMan emote enabled on their channel.

  4. The FeelsBirthdayMan emote will now appear in the stream’s chat.

If you need more help I wrote an entire article about adding BTTV emotes to your Youtube account. This guide will help regardless if you are a streamer or a viewer.

Unfortunately, FFZ and Youtube Gaming are not currently compatible and so you will only be able to use this emote on Youtube with the BTTV extension.

When To Use The FeelsBirthdayMan Emote?

The FeelsBirthdayMan emote is best used when it is the streamer’s birthday, or the birthday of another user in the stream. Some streamers may even ask their chat to spam the emote to celebrate a random celebrity’s birthday. Also, a streamer’s chat may use this emote to troll a streamer.

For example, some users may spam this emote when it is not the streamer’s birthday just to mess with them.

And others may troll the streamer by using this emote when the streamer accomplishes a simple task such as beating the first level of a game.

Why Is The FeelsBirthdayMan Emote Not Appearing In Chat?

Here are common reasons why the FeelsBirthdayMan emote may not be appearing in chat:

  1. The viewer trying to use the emote does not have the BTTV or FFZ extension.
  2. The streamer does not have the BTTV or FFZ extension.
  3. The streamer does not have the FeelsBirthdayMan emote enabled on their channel.
  4. The viewer is trying to use the emote on mobile.
  5. The person did not type “FeelsBirthdayMan” correctly.
  6. Twitch or Youtube banned the emote.

The reasons listed above are the most common reasons why the FeelsBirthdayMan emote won’t work in chat.

If you feel like you have checked off everything listed above, and the FeelsBirthdayMan emote still won’t work for you, then check out my article here where I go into more detail as to why your emotes may not be working and how to fix it.

How To Pronounce FeelsBirthdayMan?

To pronounce FeelsBirthdayMan you just say the words “feels”, “birthday” and “man” normally, but separatley. Feels-Birthday-Man.

Is The FeelsBirthdayMan Emote Popular On Twitch?

The FeelsBirthdayMan is not currently a popular emote on Twitch. Unlike other emotes that are used to express emotions, this emote is really only useful when it’s a person’s birthday. For this reason it is not frequently used.

It’s a cool emote to add for special occasions, but not one that most streamers will keep around for a long time because of how infrequently it is used.
