Over the last few years the slang terms Discord Kitten and Kitten Daddy have become very popular on Discord. I go over what these terms mean and where they came from below.
What Is A Discord Kitten?
A Discord Kitten is slang for someone who is pampered with goods, services, or other benefits (such as Discord Nitro) in exchange for companionship or a dating-like relationship on Discord. Discord Kittens can be male or female and the term can be used both seriously and ironically.
For example, if a user gifts another user Discord Nitro, the person who received the gift may be referred to by the gifter as their “Discord Kitten”. This would be an example of the term being used ironically.
On the other hand, there are several dating servers and chat rooms on Discord where people are looking for others to provide for them materially in exchange for companionship.
These people who are looking to be taken care of materialistically are also known as Discord Kittens, however this would be an example of the term being used seriously and not in a joking way.
Discord Kittens are also usually younger, and those who are providing for them are typically older and wealthier, but this doesn’t always have to be the case.
Those who provide for Discord Kittens also have their own nickname, which I will talk more about below.
What Is A Discord Daddy Or Kitten Daddy On Discord?
A Discord Daddy, also referred to as a Kitten Daddy, is someone who provides for a Discord Kitten. They are typically older and wealthier individuals, but this is not always the case. A Discord Daddy may gift things like Discord Nitro or money to their Discord Kittens.
Although the name is “Discord Daddy”, the person who takes care of a Discord Kitten can be male or female, it doesn’t really matter. Same goes for Discord Kittens.
Now that I have explained to you what a Discord Kitten is, let’s talk about where the term originated.
Who Created The Term “Discord Kitten”?
The term Discord Kitten was first used in a Tweet by SlaytypeDA on December 30th, 2016. However, the term “Discord Kitten” did not begin to get popular until 2021 when Youtuber Quackity began referring to those he played with ironically as his Discord Kittens.

As far as Quackity is concerned, he would pretend to be in fake relationships with other Youtubers such as Dream and joke about the things that he would get them as his “Discord Kitten”.
Since Quackity began using the term it has exploded in popularity and you can now see the word used on Reddit, Twitch, Youtube, and of course, Discord.
Other content creators have even created montages about the slang term.
For example, Youtuber Jamisho made an entire video poking fun at the Discord Kitten / Discord Daddy relationship, as well as other interactions on Discord. It’s actually quite funny.
Although there are real Discord Daddy and Discord Kitten relationships taking place on Discord, most people who use the term use it as a joke when they buy something for someone on Discord.
How To Become A Discord Kitten?
The best way to become a Discord Kitten is to join e-dating servers on Discord and then advertise yourself as a Discord Kitten. Discord dating servers are the most common place for those looking for Discord Kittens to hang out, and if you are lucky, someone may select you as their “Kitten”.
But before you go around advertising yourself as a Discord Kitten, read below so you can make sure that you are not taken advantage of.
Is Being A Discord Kitten Or Discord Daddy Safe?
Labeling yourself as a Discord Kitten or a Discord Daddy is safe; however, people on the internet are not always who they say they are and it would be wise not to share anything personal with people who you only know from online interactions. Above all else, just be cautious.
This is especially true if you are a minor. Unfortunately, there are people who abuse these labels and use them to target minors. This goes for both Discord Kittens and Discord Daddies.
On the one hand, Discord Kitten’s should be careful because people looking for Discord Kitten’s are not always innocent individuals.
A relationship between a Discord Kitten and a Discord Daddy may start off as amicable, but in time a Discord Daddy may begin to ask for things beyond just online chatting and companionship.
Things that a Discord Kitten may not be comfortable with. If this is the case, the Discord Kitten should end the relationship immediately and distance themselves from the user.
On the other hand, Discord Daddy’s must be careful as well. Some Discord Kitten’s are complete scammers and will show interest in you when all they really want is your money.
Like I said at the beginning, having these labels is fine, but if things start to escalate it is best to be cautious and to use sound judgement in order to avoid being scammed or otherwise harmed.
Are Discord Kittens Allowed On Discord?
Discord Kittens are allowed on Discord. There are no Discord rules prohibiting Discord Kittens or Discord Daddies. There are rules regarding sexual content on Discord, but as long as the Discord Kittens and Daddies are not breaking any of these rules then there is no problem.
Where Discord Kittens and Discord Daddies begin to run into trouble with the Discord guidelines is when they begin to engage in sexual behavior or talks without the consent of other users.
Also, sexualizing children or creating adult content for users under 18 is also prohibited. The Discord Kitten and Discord Daddy labels are fine as long as they do not engage in this type of behavior.
What Is A UwU Girl On Discord?
An UwU Girl on Discord is a girl who brings the UwU emoji to life. UwU girls typically behave like, talk like, and dress like an anime girl. They are often sexually suggestive, but not always. They also tend to be very cute and bubbly just like a girl from an anime.
People sometimes confuse Discord Kittens with UwU girls, but they are not the same thing. With that being said, a Discord Kitten can be an UwU girl and visa versa. They are both just Discord slang terms.
